Portfolio IV
Theme + Variations
For Portfolio IV I downloaded an unmixed/unmastered multitrack and mixed it as close as I could to the original mix and then made variations such as adding double time drums, adding content with sound design, and adding live musicians.
The song I chose is called "Come Around" by Leaf and is described as "Atmospheric Indie Pop" by the Cambridge Free Multitrack Library. I chose this song simply because it was nice to listen to.

Below are 3 variations I made of some sections of the song.
Variation #1 Groove Change -
This variation changes the feel of the drums in a section that includes a verse and chorus of the song.
Variation #2 SFX -
The 2nd variation uses the music to sort set a scene from a movie so I added footsteps, wind sound effects, trees moving, etc. to create an outside atmosphere.
Variation #3 Live Musicians -
The last variation features the bridge of the song where the vocals are very prominent and I felt that the guitar part could back off and be more simple to let the lush melody of the vocals shine, so I played some simple chords over this section on clean electric guitar.
